Information
For the hardier among you, you start off from Barcelonnette and cover 102 kilometres until you reach Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée across three further mountain passes: Col de la Cayolle (1671 m, a 29-km climb, D+: 1190 m), Col de Valberg (1671 m, a 12-km climb, D+: 878 m) and Col de la Couillole (1667 m, a 7-km climb, D+: 236 m). This leg of the Route des Grandes Alpes coincides with that of the Alpi Marittime Mercantour Grand Tour. It’s a marvellous detour across Mercantour park to reach Colle della Lombarda.
