This 61km long section begins with the long downhill track along the cross-border col Agnel (2744 m) with 1.736 m of vertical drop. The route crosses the beautiful villages of the Querays valley such as Molines-en-Querays. Once in the valley, the route continues along the gorges of the river Guil, crossing Fort-Querays to get to Guillestre. This is where you will start pedalling towards the Col de Vars and its 1.111 m of positive elevation (5.7% average slope and 8.7% maximum slope). After crossing the winter sports resort of Vars Les Claux, the route passes by the Refuge Napoléon and, ultimately, will take you to the col de Vars.
