In addition to the Monte Viso Tour, the “Izoard’s loop” circuit, 96 km, will take you up the legendary Col d’Izoard, a climb that is “beyond categorisation” (15.9 kms, 6.9% of average slope and 10.5% of maximum slope), record holder of the passages of the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia. Going up, you will pedal along the famous desert Casse, to go down to Briançon, former capital of the Republic of Escartons. This route, which is the n.12 of the Hautes-Alpes department, will make you discover the Great Crossing of the Alps.
