Liero of armoni is a unique exhibition of Occitan musical instruments located in Chianale, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
It brings together nearly a hundred instruments from the valleys of Piedmont and south eastern France from the end of the 18th century to the 21st century. This is a testimony to the importance attributed to popular music in the social context of our valleys, taken up again and used by composers and exponents of the music culture at the beginning of the 1900s.
The setting of the display is “humble” – a hayloft – which immediately separates us from the reality of modern life and causes us to take a leap back into our cultural and musical past.
