The Faraut is perhaps one of the most complete trips in the Varaita Valley: a 3000-meter-peak, a varied climb, a magnificent view from the summit and a descent to be tackled in one breath! You start from the Melezè Hut, climb to Pian Cheol, pass the base of some icefalls and get into the “barricades”, where it is inadvisable to go in case of high avalanche danger. You come out on a new plain and face the last slope leading to the col and to the last stretch of the ridge to reach the summit. Descent on the ascent route on open slopes.
