Valle Po e Bronda

An authentic and wild alpine valley rich in naturalistic heritage and traditions.

Discover the Po and Bronda Valleys

The Po and Bronda Valleys weave past and present, reality and legend. Here, nature, history, art, and architecture meet and mingle. Italy's longest river, the Po, starts here, at the foot of the lofty Monviso, a presence that has constantly defined the visual horizon and the entire life of the valley's inhabitants. Along the Po valley, we can also find evidence of an ancient and glorious past: rock engravings, monasteries, abbeys, but also simple country chapels, known not so much for their artistic and architectural qualities, but rather for the devotion shown here by the local population in the past, and finally the wine and food production that boasts genuine and characteristic features, together with a strong craft tradition in the wood industry.

Let the beauty of the Po and Bronda valleys seduce you!

In Martiniana Po, an area classified as a mineralogical and geological site, you can visit the Piropo Museum right in the centre of town, where the geological history and the formation in the Po valley of the Piropo, very pure crystals of a blue or transparent colour, are described by expert guides.

There are many sites and historical, artistic, and naturalistic beauties in the valley: from the Sanctuary of San Chiaffredo to Balma Boves, the Collegiate Church to the abbeys of Staffarda and

Saints Peter and Colombano, the high valley where the Po river rises to the woods and cliffs of Mombracco, and the villages of Ostana to Castellar Castle.
