Information
The Tour of Castellata winds through traces of a unique experiment in European history – that of the Escarton Republic.
Between 1343 and 1713, five cantons between Italy and France formed a federation. Castellata, in the Varaita Valley, had its capital at Casteldelfino and comprised the Comunes of Pontechianale and Bellino. It is a route where you experience art, culture and traditions with the magnificent panoramas of the Varaita Valley.
