Canosio (CN)
Another classic destination for winter ski mountaineering in Maira Valley; M. Giobert represents a safe environment from avalanche even after heavy snowfall, both for the steep slopes and for the thick larch wood. The northern exposure almost always guarantees dry and powder snow. The peak offers a spectacular view that expands from the severe walls of Rocca la Meja to Monviso and beyond. The arrival and the departure are in Preit, with its stone and wood houses on the sunny slopes of the opposite side.
