A hike that leads to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Varaita Valley: overlooking the Lake of Pontechianale, with a beautiful view over Monviso on one side and the Pelvo d’Elvo and the Maritime Alps on the other. It starts from the hairpin bend, where the junction for the hamlet of Bals is marked, and you follow the traces of the road up to the alpine pasture huts, where the slope leading to the col opens up. Descent on the same route. Recommended excursion for trained people because of the difference in altitude. Route not recommended after heavy snowfall due to avalanche danger.
